Seeding Conversation. Sourcing Action.
The Center for Social Empowerment (33 S. Florissant Road
Ferguson, MO 63135) is a hub for reflection, investigation, and education on social and racial justice issues. By providing a variety of diverse learning opportunities, the Center aims to equip Ferguson and other communities with the experiences and tools they need to promote social and racial justice in their own context. Over the past year, the Center has created 5 unique workshops designed to foster conversation about race and social justice issues. These conversations have been tailored to specific communities in order to meet participants where they are to promote shared understanding, learning, and justice efforts. The Center has coordinated and facilitated over 50 small group conversations on race with audiences across the country, with participants ranging in age from middle school students to retired individuals.
All workshops are flexible and can be adapted to meet your organization, church, or school wherever they are on a journey towards justice. In order to sustain the work of The Center while also responding to the needs of the community, workshop costs are on a sliding scale. Please contact us so we can start planning your workshop today!
